About Sigma Gamma Rho & Lambda Rho Sigma, Alumnae Chapter

SIGMA GAMMA RHO SORORITY, INC.

Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was established on November 12, 1922, in Indianapolis, Indiana by seven young educators by the names of Mary Lou Allison Gardner Little, Dorothy Hanley Whiteside, Vivian White Marbury, Nannie Mae Gahn Johnson, Hattie Mae Annette Dulin Redford, Bessie Mae Downey Rhoades Martin and Cubena McClure. Sigma Gamma Rho was founded on the unremitting commitment to exemplary Service, Sisterhood, and Scholarship. From seven young educators came a leading national service organization that continues to meet the challenges of the da and continues to grow through Sisterhood, Scholarship, and Service.

LAMBDA RHO SIGMA ALUMNAE CHAPTER

The Lambda Rho Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. was chartered in 2012 by 6 LuxuRiouS women to better serve the community of Santa Monica, California. The ladies of LRS are committed to serving their community, maintaining strong sisterly bonds, and assisting college bound youth with scholarships, all while staying classy and fashionable. Lambda Rho Sigma have partnerships that bring awareness to great causes such as March of Dimes, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Breast Cancer, AID/HIV, and the American Heart Association.
