Lambda Rho Sigma Chapter believes in and values Education. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated is dedicated to enhancing scholarship of all students helping them to graduate from high school and progress to higher education. With that, Lambda Rho Sigma Chapter offers scholarships every year to high school seniors who plan to attend college. Applications are available in Winter and due in Spring. The chapter has provided nearly $20,000 in scholarships over the past years and have had the opportunity to assist many women with educational funding. Please see the two scholarship oppurtunities available below:

Lamp of Learning Educational Scholarship

Application Requirements 

  • High School Senior

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Essay (prompts provided)

  • Unofficial transcript

  • Two letters of recommendation preferably from a high school teacher, counselor, or pastor who can attest to the applicant’s academic and/or leadership abilities.

  • Official letter of acceptance from a four-year college/university or community college that is accredited by one of the six regional accrediting associations in the United States.

Our Sister's Keeper Scholarship

Application Requirements 

  • Single parent (female) enrolled in an Accredited Associates, Bachelors, or Masters Program with at least one year remaining for degree completion 

  • Minimum 2.5 GPA

  • Must be employed part-time or show full time enrollment status

  • Resume

  • Essay (prompt provided, 750 word maximum)

  • Unofficial (current) transcript, HS Diploma or GED (for first year students)

  • Two letters of recommendation preferably from a college profesor, counselor, or pastor who can attest to the applicant’s academic and/or leadership abilities.
