EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Lambda Rho Sigma Chapter believes in and values education. Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Incorporated is dedicated to enhancing scholarship of all students helping them to graduate from high school and progress to higher education. With that, Lambda Rho Sigma Chapter offers scholarships every year to high school seniors who plan to attend college. Applications are available typically in early Spring. The chapter has provided over $30,000 in scholarships over the past years and have had the opportunity to assist many students with educational funding. Lamp of Learning Educational Scholarship (Now Closed)

Application Requirements 

  • High School Seniors

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Demonstrated leadership skills

  • Essay (prompts provided)

  • Unofficial transcript

  • Two letters of recommendation preferably from a high school teacher, counselor, or pastor who can attest to the applicant’s academic and/or leadership abilities.

  • Official letter of acceptance from a four-year college/university or community college that is accredited by one of the six regional accrediting associations in the United States.

2025 Lamp of Learning Scholarship Competition – Update

This year, we received an impressive number of applications from outstanding high school seniors across Southern California, all demonstrating strong academic performance, leadership potential, and a deep commitment to community service. After careful review, we are excited to award scholarships to eight exceptional students who truly represent the spirit of excellence and perseverance.
